There’s no doubt that the folks at Kit Kat have been hard at work. The candy aisle staple, known for its smooth chocolate coating and crunchy wafers has expanded far beyond the original milk chocolate variety. Last year, the brand launched a Kit Kat that tastes like pink lemonade, a Halloween version covered in cinnamon toast-flavored creme, and its first-ever holiday shape.
Now, Kit Kat has quietly added a nostalgic new flavor to the lineup but it’s only available at Costco.
Kit Kat’s New Cotton Candy Flavor
Costco shoppers have a sharp eye when it comes to new products. From the food court to the bakery, nothing gets by the store’s most devoted customers. Recently, Costco insider @costcoaisles spotted a vibrant new Kit Kat flavor on shelves. The video shows a 100-count variety bag that includes individually wrapped milk chocolate, vanilla, and cotton candy-flavored Kit Kats.
Food reviewer @markie_devo also shared the news on their Instagram and commenters had mixed reactions. “Yuck. I hate cotton candy flavor so much, just sugar-flavored sugar,” wrote one person. “No one asked for this flavor,” replied another.
Despite the critics, many are curious to try the new baby blue-hued candy. “I need the cotton candy Kit Kat,” said one fan. “Can someone with a Costco membership send these my way?” pleaded another.
One sentiment echoed across social media channels is disappointment that the new flavor isn’t more widely available. “Exclusive will kill the sales, why not just bring flavors out everywhere,” questioned one Instagrammer. “UGH! Costco exclusive?! Also why not just a bag of all cotton candy Kit Kats? I wanna [try] these,” replied another frustrated shopper.
We don’t know how long the cotton candy-flavored Kit Kats will be available, or what the official plans are for a larger rollout. But hopefully, some eagle-eyed fans will see them pop up at additional retailers soon.
