I Tried Dawn’s Newest Product, and It’s Even Better Than Its Powerwash

If you ask most people to name the first brand they think of when they hear the word “dish soap,” most people are going to say Dawn—myself included. Hey, if it’s good enough for the ducks, it’s definitely good enough for my dishes.

Dawn has been leading innovation in the dish soap industry for years, from its OG Clean Scent formula to Dawn Platinum and, of course, one of its biggest launches ever, Dawn Powerwash.

Dawn released its sprayable dish detergent, Dawn Powerwash, in 2019 and the product has since become a fan-favorite of the brand—for good reason. Powerwash removes 99% of grease and cleans dishes up to five times faster than traditional dish soap because it contains three cleaning boosters that are not typically found in regular detergent.

Whether used on dishes or to clean your grimy countertops or stove, Dawn Powerwash is a great choice for dish soap. However, now that Dawn has perfected its sprayable formula, it wanted to bring a similar experience to those who like to fill up their sinks to do dishes, rather than spray each dish as they clean.

Dawn Introduces New Dawn PowerSuds Dish Soap

Dawn learned that the biggest problem customers face is that the soap suds can deflate quickly and become greasy easily—meaning one load of dishes could require them to drain the sink and refill it after washing an extra-greasy plate or pan. To solve that problem, Dawn is releasing an all-new PowerSuds dish soap with an innovative “Trap & Lock” technology.

Dawn PowerSuds still cuts through 99% of grease like Dawn Platinum, but the new formula traps the grease to stop the suds from redistributing dirty soap to more dishes. Additionally, the soap provides two times the amount of suds as Dawn Platinum, with bubbles that don’t deflate as quickly.

As the name suggests, the new suds are extra powerful, so they will remain whiter longer, maximize the clean, and provide instant drying to leave dishes shiny and film-free.

Dawn PowerSuds is rolling out to retailers nationwide now, where it will be sold in both EZ-Squeeze and regular bottles at different sizes and price points. To start, it will be available in one scent: Rain.

I tried Dawn PowerSuds early, and here is my honest review.

My Honest Review of Dawn PowerSuds

Don’t get me wrong, I think Dawn Powerwash is a great product—especially for non-dish kitchen cleaning. However, I was raised as a dish washer who fills the sink with suds and water to clean in batches rather than adding soap to each individual dish. So, Dawn Powerwash isn’t my favorite when it comes to washing dishes.

After trying the new PowerSuds, I’m instantly a convert. One small squirt filled my sink with enough fluffy, white bubbles to clean even my greasiest pan that I used to cook chorizo.

The suds lathered superbly and cleaned each dish easily and effectively—and didn’t evaporate even after dumping the dirty, greasy water from the pan back into the sink.

Considering that Dawn PowerSuds’ price point is pretty on par with both Dawn Platinum and Powerwash, there’s no question that I’ll be reaching for this new dish soap at the grocery store.
