Being featured in a movie can popularize a food or a drink. There was a noticeable uptick in the popularity of the simple French veggie dish ratatouille after Disney’s film “Ratatouille” delighted moviegoers. The film “Chef” brought the Cubano to those who didn’t know about the Cuban sandwich filled with pork, ham, and cheese. And, if you recall the frenzy over Reese’s Pieces after the film “E.T.” debuted, you may also be one of the people who chose to make fried green tomatoes for the first time after you saw the film of the same name.

Those foods all existed before they had starring roles in films, but sometimes, the food is specifically invented for the movie. In the Harry Potter books and films, Butterbeer is a popular drink the Hogwarts students drink. The fictional beverage is described as “a popular wizarding drink” that could be “served warm and foaming in tankards or cold in bottles and tasted like a less-sweet butterscotch.”

That fictional drink first came to life as a beverage—we have several Butterbeer recipes, all made with butterscotch flavor and usually some sort of cream—then as a flavor in treats like ice cream andhomemade cookies.

Now, Keebler is combining one of its fan-favorite cookies with the flavor of Butterbeer for a limited-time treat we can't wait to get our hands on.

Keebler’s Harry Potter Butterbeer Fudge Stripes Cookies

Described as a “Butterbeer-flavored cookie topped with Butterbeer-flavored fudge that mimics the sweet and frothy combination of cream soda and butterscotch” the Harry Potter Butterbeer Fudge Stripes come in four designs with shapes and imprints inspired by the Harry Potter films.

The new Fudge Stripes are already causing buzz online. Instagram’s @snackolator recently posted about the new treats, saying, “I’m about to destroy a pack of these Butterbeer Fudge Stripes like they’re the last remaining Horcrux!” Another fan echoed that excitement: “The way I’m about to burn rubber to get them.”

The cookies’ release is accompanied by a Butterbeer section on Keebler’s Open for Magic hub, which features a Harry Potter trivia game and a chance to win prizes, including a trip to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando. A QR code on the cookies’ packaging leads Harry Potter fans to the website, just like magic.

Keebler’s Butterbeer Fudge Stripes aren’t the only wizarding world snack on the market right now. You can also satisfy your Butterbeer craving with the new Goldfish Butterbeer Flavored Ghrahms.

It’s almost as if the Harry Potter universe is being kept forefront of our minds until the new HBO Harry Potter TV series premieres next year. Whatever the reason, we'll be saying "accio" on repeat to try and summon these delicious cookies straight to our hands.
