Coca-Cola has always been a leading brand in drink innovation. From its Coca-Cola Freestyle machines that allow you to try soda creations you won’t find at the grocery store to its creative in-store flavors, like Coca-Cola Orange Cream and Sprite + Tea, there’s a reason the brand is number one in the world.

But, while Coca-Cola is known for its sodas like Coke, Sprite, Barq’s, and Fresca, its portfolio goes far beyond those beverage options—including Simply.

You may know Simply as an orange juice or even lemonade brand, but its drink lineup is actually much larger. In addition to its vast portfolio of juices, the brand previously launched Simply Mixology to make mocktails and cocktails even easier, as well as Simply Spiked in hard lemonade, limeade, peach, cranberry, and Simply Spiked Bold, which boasts 8% alcohol by volume content.

Now, the juice brand is taking a page out of its parent company’s book by entering into the soda category for the first time ever with the launch of Simply Pop.

Coca-Cola Introduces Its First-Ever Prebiotic Soda

Simply / Allrecipes

Simply Pop is Coca-Cola’s first-ever prebiotic soda, taking on the Poppis, Olipops, and SunSips of the world. The fruit-forward sodas—or, as Simply calls them, pops—come in five flavors and boast six grams of prebiotic fiber to support gut health and vitamin C and zinc to support overall immune function in each 12-ounce can.

Simply Pop is debuting in Strawberry, Pineapple Mango, Fruit Punch, Lime, and Citrus Punch flavors—all of which you can already find somewhere in the Simply lineup.

The Coca-Cola Company chose Simply to spearhead its prebiotic soda launch because it found many Gen Zers and Millennials were “interested in juice and prebiotic sodas.” So, put the two together in a fizzy drink made with 25 to 30% fruit juice from concentrate and no added sugar, and you’ve got the best of both worlds.

After more than a year in development, Simply Pop will begin rolling out at retail stores in select regions and online for nationwide shipping via Amazon Fresh this month. The brand plans to expand to nationwide markets throughout the rest of the year.

It will be sold in individual cans for now, but with the prebiotic soda category quickly growing, we might see Simply Pop next to true Coca-Cola sooner rather than later.
