The Aldi Finds aisle seems to be on fire lately with kitchenware we’ve all been excited about. Since the beginning of the year, we’ve seen a beautiful and trendy $13 ceramic bowl that rivals a $150 Crate & Barrel version, a cast iron skillet that holds up like a Lodge, and highball glasses that look just like ones Williams Sonoma sells, but are a quarter of the price.
Now, there’s something new to get excited about this week. If you’re looking to add to your collection or perhaps replace some tired old plates and bowls, you’re going to want to head to Aldi ASAP. The Finds aisle is offering up some charming tableware that looks like a Crate & Barrel dupe but won’t break the bank. And if you choose to tell people it did come from a more expensive store, we won’t divulge your secret.
Aldi's Latest Crofton Speckled Dinnerware
Aldi / Allrecipes
Crate & Barrel currently has adorable stoneware Craft Speckled White Dinnerware for $8.95 per dinner plate. It also has matching cereal bowls for $7.95 each. The white plate and the speckled design scream “Spring!” to us, sort of reminiscent of a speckled Easter egg. For those on a tight budget, however, the price may say, “I’d like new, seasonal dishes, but maybe not right now.”
That’s where Aldi’s Crofton Speckled Dinnerware comes in. Its design looks remarkably similar to the Crate & Barrel version, but the prices look nothing alike. Both the Aldi dinner plates and bowls are $6.99 total for a set of four.
The other notable difference is the Crofton dishes are made from melamine rather than stoneware. But that just means they’ll be perfect for outdoor gatherings as the weather gets warmer or to use at the kids’ table for Easter brunch.
Aldi offers a choice of two colors in the speckled pattern: white and robin’s egg blue. Talk about screaming spring.
These value plates and bowls go on sale starting Feb. 26 and will be there for just one week, or until supplies last. Seems like a perfect opportunity to freshen up your spring table setting, doesn’t it?
