Dubai Chocolate has been popping up all over the place lately. Its popularity started to grow back in 2023 after TikToker Maria Vehera posted about the “Can’t Get Knafeh of It” chocolate bar created by Sarah Hamouda from Fix Dessert Chocolatier in Dubai. Several U.S. brands—and fans—have followed suit by offering their takes on the viral sensation, such as the Dubai Chocolate Starbucks drink order and Lindt’s limited-edition Dubai Chocolate bar.
So what is all the hype surrounding this chocolate treat? It’s a unique chocolate bar with various flavors and textures thanks to a filling made of tahini, pistachio, and kataifi (shredded phyllo dough). Everyone has been talking about this chocolate bar for the past year-plus, and that doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon.
Ghirardelli is the latest company to create its own version of the vastly popular Dubai chocolate. But this time, it will be served as a sundae and only available in select cities.
Ghirardelli Launches Limited-Time Dubai Chocolate Sundae

Chocolate and pistachio lovers, get ready. Ghirardelli is about to debut a limited-time sundae that your tastebuds will shout for. Starting at noon on Saturday, March 8, the brand will debut its Dubai Chocolate Sundae at historic Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco for one day only.
Ghirardelli’s take on the global sensation stars a mixture of pistachio butter, white chocolate, and crispy kataifi. That gets layered with vanilla ice cream and the company’s own handmade hot fudge. Everything is topped off with a gold-leafed Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Caramel Square, whipped cream, and caramel sauce.
New York City will be up next for a one-day opportunity to experience the Dubai Chocolate Sundae on March 22 at Ghirardelli’s location inside the Empire State Building.
If you’re lucky enough to be in these areas in March and want to try the latest sundae, we suggest getting there as early as possible before the rush and while supplies last. For those who aren’t in New York City or San Francisco, well, now may be the time to hit the road for that spring getaway you’ve been meaning to take. If there’s ever a reason for a road trip, it’s chocolate.
