Hardee’s / Carl’s Jr. / Allrecipes
Have you ever wondered why Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr. are so alike? They even have similar logos. The two fast food chains are owned by the same company, CKE Restaurants Holdings, Inc., but the restaurants tend to be regional. You usually won’t find Hardee’s restaurants in the same region you would find a Carl’s Jr., and vice versa.
What you will find at both fast food chains are similar (but not always identical) menus. Both restaurants are known for their biscuits made daily from scratch. They both serve charbroiled burgers, and their basic cheeseburgers are known as the “Big Cheeseburger.” The only difference between the two seems to be that Carl’s Jr. uses a sesame seed bun and Hardee’s uses a plain version.
There are plenty of other similarities, too. A few years back, both chains offered a limited-edition Monster Essence Fragrance Diffuser that filled your home with the aroma of bacon and beef, which quite frankly, was a bit of a head scratcher to us. The fan-favorite menu item that both restaurants are about to bring back, however, makes perfect sense to us, particularly this time of year.
Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr. Announced the Return of the Redhook Beer Battered Fish Sandwich
Hardee's / Carl's Jr. / Allrecipes
Starting this month, both chains will join other fast food restaurants, such as Long John Silver’s and Arby’s, in offering something special for those who go meatless on Fridays during Lent—limited time seafood items on their menus.
Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr.’s offerings come in the form of the Redhook Beer Battered Fish Sandwich that features a pollock filet topped with shredded lettuce and Ken’s Tartar Sauce on a toasted bun. The sandwich also includes sweet relish, cabbage, carrot pieces, and spices to top it off.
Both chains will also have a "2 for $7" combo offer on the sandwich, which seems like a pretty good deal if you're extra hungry on a Friday night (or any night of the week).
The crispy beer-battered fish sandwiches will only be available for a short window at Carl’s Jr., now through April 22, and at Hardee’s from March 5 through April 29. So don’t delay on this filet!
