It’s no secret that Trader Joe’s bakery section reigns supreme. Fans already flock to the store to stock up on special bakery items like hand pies, Danish Kringles, and sheet cakes. What’s we love about these products is that they’re not items you’d typically be able to find at another supermarket, but would have to track down at a specialty store (where they’d probably cost a lot more). And now, Trader Joe’s has added another new item to its bakery shelves that fans are already making a special trip for.

Trader Joe’s Introduces New Soft Pretzel Twists

If you’re like me, you know the best part of going to the mall is passing by Auntie Anne’s to inhale the delicious smell of warm, soft pretzels. Now you can recreate that experience right at home.

Trader Joe’s new Soft Pretzel Twists are made with a combination of barley + wheat flour and have a hint of sweetness to them. The package recommends warming them up in the oven before eating and includes a package of salt to sprinkle on top. According to Trader Joe’s website, each pretzel twist is about five inches long and an inch thick. They’re priced at $3.49 for six pretzel twists, coming out to about 58 cents per pretzel, a fraction of the cost of what you’d spend buying one out.

“This may be a game charger for me. Won’t [sic] have to wait in line at mall to get one,” one user commented after the popular TJ’s fan account @trader_joes_treasure_hunt’s post about the pretzels. “I thought these were @auntieannespretzels,” another user said. On another Instagram post, one commenter confirmed they are “as good as fair or mall pretzels.”

How to Serve Trader Joe’s Soft Pretzel Twists

You can’t go wrong with enjoying these pretzels with a side of yellow mustard. However, fans on Reddit are also coming in hot with recommendations for pairing the pretzels with TJ’s fan favorites like its White Queso, Pub Cheese, or Dill Pickle Mustard . Another Reddit thread shows a fan using the pretzels twists as hot dog buns. Genius.

If you have a sweet tooth, ditch the salt packet and brush the pretzels with butter and cinnamon sugar before warming in the oven. Or, split the pretzels in half lengthwise and use them in place of bread to make French toast.

The pretzels aren’t flagged as a limited-edition item, which means they’re here to stay (at least for now). So, whether you’re in a sweet or savory mood, you’ll now be able to satisfy your soft pretzel craving whenever the mood strikes.
