  • Costco's bakery has introduced a new savory item that's quickly becoming a member favorite, with one fan saying they "10/10 would buy again."
  • The item comes pre-baked, so all you have to do is heat and serve.
  • They are the perfect savory side for any meal and make excellent party appetizers.

When it comes to hosting, there’s no better one-stop shop than Costco. The bulk retailer has everything you need to prepare your home and stock the pantry for guests. Plus, with Costco’s dinner kits and heat-and-eat sides, you can make meals for the whole family in record time.

Recently, one eagle-eyed member spotted a new crowd-friendly side dish, and it didn’t take long for the news to spread. Fans are already raving about the new bakery item and dreaming up delicious ways to use it.

Costco’s Garlic Parmesan Butter Dinner Rolls

Whether you’re offering them alongside lasagna or dipping them into marinara for a satisfying party appetizer, Costco’s Garlic Parmesan Butter Dinner Rolls are the ultimate savory sidekick. The refrigerated item features a dozen soft yeasted rolls slathered with a generous portion of herb-filled garlic butter. Even better, it’s already baked, so all you have to do is heat it before serving.

The impressive rolls are already getting attention on social media. On Instagram, @costcohotfinds shared a video of the rolls, and fans raced to the comment section to share their thoughts. “OMG!!!! I just tried these yesterday…RUN, don’t walk!!!” said one Costco member. “We made these tonight for dinner and they are so delicious and buttery. You will not be disappointed,” added another.

In a Reddit thread, one user showed off their golden baked batch. “I picked these up at my local Costco today. They were with the refrigerated baked goods. I’ve never seen them before! Followed the directions on the package and they came out delicious. 10/10 would buy again,” they wrote in the photo’s caption.

Other Costco shoppers flooded the comments with excitement. “I saw these today at store 390 in Michigan. I could smell the garlic through the package. Your post is the universe telling me to go back to get them,” wrote one person. “Tried some during shift today, I'd say solid 8.2/10. The topping was obviously delicious, and eaten warm, they were absolute bliss. In my opinion, just could use some more cheese in the actual rolls. Still superb regardless!” wrote another.

While many Costco members are thrilled with the find, some have expressed concerns over the rolls’ nutrition and ingredient list. The good news is that if you love the idea, but don’t feel this particular version is for you, it’s easy to make a homemade copycat. Start with our old-fashioned yeast roll recipe or your favorite store-bought frozen rolls, and bake according to the instructions. Then, make a batch of whipped garlic butter. (We suggest using Kirkland Signature Grass Fed Butter if you’re looking for a Kerrygold dupe for a fraction of the price.)

Once the rolls have cooled completely, cover them with your preferred portion of the butter mixture. At this point, you can pop the rolls into the oven briefly to melt the butter, or cover them tightly and refrigerate until you’re ready to reheat. Since the homemade version doesn’t contain preservatives, we recommend consuming it no more than 24 hours for the best results. Need more time? Freeze your dinner rolls and thaw overnight before adding the buttery topping for a time-saving side.

If you’re short on time or prefer the shortcut that Costco’s buns offer, be sure to grab this buttery bakery item on your next Costco run. And be careful not to accidentally grab Costco’s cinnamon rolls—a few people have mentioned being fooled by their similar appearance. But if you do grab the wrong pan, at least it will be a delicious mistake.
