Cinnabon and Carvel always make me nostalgic. While Cinnabon brings me back to all those mall trips I’d take with friends, stopping in for a gooey bun between shopping at Sam Goody and Hot Topic, Carvel screams humid summer nights spent sitting outside eating hot fudge sundaes with my mom.
As a kid, combining these two favorites could only seem like a dream. But that dream will soon be a reality with the upcoming restaurant concept from the franchise behind Carvel and Cinnabon that every sweet tooth (like me) can appreciate.
Cinnabon and Carvel Launch Cinnabon Swirl
What do you get when you combine Cinnabon’s freshly baked cinnamon buns and Carvel’s creamy soft-serve ice cream? The first-ever Cinnabon Swirl restaurant. It’s a bakery and ice cream shop in one, serving brand-new treats we’ve never had before.
Cinnabon Swirl
Cinnabon Swirl’s menu will include fan-favorite items from Cinnabon and Carvel alongside new signature treats specific to the venue. Choose from Premium Pints of Carvel soft serve swirled with various toppings and Ice Cream Sandwiches made of two freshly baked chocolate chip cookies stuffed with Carvel soft serve.
The new concept will also serve its own Cinnabon Swirl Sundae featuring Carvel vanilla soft serve mixed with pieces of a warm Cinnabon Classic Roll and drizzled with caramel, plus Boninis, which are warm Cinnabon Classic Rolls stuffed with Carvel vanilla soft serve for what the restaurant calls a “warm-pressed treat.”
Cinnabon Swirl’s first location is coming soon to Hillsboro, Oregon, with two rotating limited-edition soft-serve flavors to choose from each month, which can be ordered in a cup, cone, or as an ice cream sandwich. The first two flavors guests can look forward to trying will be Birthday Cake and Cold Brew.
The limited-edition flavors can be found in a Birthday Cake Ice Cream Sandwich and Caramel Macchiato Ice Cream Sandwich, as well. The Birthday Cake Ice Cream Sandwich is two chocolate chip cookies rolled in rainbow sprinkles and filled with Carvel’s Birthday Cake soft serve and blue cream cheese frosting. The Caramel Macchiato Ice Cream Sandwich features two chocolate chip cookies rolled in mini chocolate chips and complete with Cold Brew Carvel soft serve and caramel sauce in between.
More than 30 Cinnabon Swirl locations are set to open following the original in Hillsboro, with the next three stores in Peoria, Arizona; Kennesaw, Georgia; and Pasadena, California, to open later this year. It sounds like a Cinnabon Swirl road trip might be in order this summer!
