I have a lot of Olive Garden fans in my life. In fact, my friend Katie always jokes that her daughter, Olive, was named after the casual chain restaurant, and my pal Sean insisted on celebrating his 36th birthday there (yes, he did receive a free tiramisu to mark the milestone). We have group chats aboutOlive Garden meal deals and plan quarterly dates to the Italian-American joint.
That’s why I was so excited to discover a treasure trove of Olive Garden copycat recipes on the website to satisfy my cravings for everything from Zuppa Toscana Soup to Alfredo Sauce in between visits. There’s one recipe that might rival the restaurant’s version, though: Olive Garden Copycat Breadsticks. The best part? You only need three ingredients.
How to Make Copycat Olive Garden Breadsticks

The recipe, developed by Allrcipes’ own Nicole McLaughlin, is the secret to soft, buttery, and garlicky breadsticks. While the super-simple method requires just three ingredients—Parker House roll dough, melted butter, and garlic salt—the resulting oven-baked dupe taste just like the restaurant’s famous bottomless side.
To make them, thaw a 25-ounce package of Parker House roll dough, then roll each piece into an 8-inch stick. Place the breadsticks on parchment-lined baking sheets, brush them with melted butter, and let them rise in a warm spot for 30 minutes. Bake them at 375 degrees F for about 10 minutes until light golden brown. Brush the breadsticks with the remaining melted butter and sprinkle them with garlic salt. Serve warm.

- Plan ahead. Thaw your dough in the refrigerator overnight (for at least six to eight hours) or at room temperature for about 30 minutes to one hour, depending on the temperature of your kitchen. Don’t leave them out on the counter too long, though, or the dough will begin to rise.
- Customize your toppings. The garlic salt seasoning is the key to re-creating the flavor of Olive Garden’s version—but it’s a recipe that’s easy to make your own. If you love Parmesan cheese, sprinkle some on! Any of your favorite spice blends (think: ranch or Italian seasoning) will work.
- Make as many as you want. If you don’t want to make the entire bag of rolls, just thaw as many breadsticks as you’d like and reduce the amount of butter and garlic salt. That means if you keep a bag of Parker House roll dough (any brand) in your freezer—you can have copycat Olive Garden breadsticks anytime.
