Every item on KFC’s menu feels like a classic, Southern staple. From its signature fried chicken bucket—filled with thighs and drumsticks coated in the secret 11 herbs and spices—to its chicken sandwiches, tenders, and, of course, tasty sides—like mashed potatoes, gravy, coleslaw—anything you order is going to taste like down-home comfort food.
The one thing the fast food chain doesn’t offer, however, is breakfast. And even though we know biscuits and gravy would be extra delicious with KFC’s buttery, flaky biscuits, there is one brunch favorite we can’t believe KFC doesn’t sell all the time: chicken and waffles.
Chicken and waffles showcases the best of sweet and savory with juicy, crispy fried chicken and fluffy, buttery waffles—so it’s no wonder KFC has offered it before.
In 2018, the Colonel added Chicken and Waffles to the menu for a limited time. The original menu item featured Belgian Liège-style waffles, which are smaller, denser, and sweeter than traditional Belgian waffles; your choice of fried chicken, chicken tenders, or a chicken and waffles sandwich; and a side of Mrs. Butterworth’s syrup for dipping. The sandwich was also topped with, get this, hot honey—meaning KFC was well ahead of the “swicy” trend that’s everywhere these days.
After the initial success, KFC brought its Chicken and Waffles back in 2019 with an all-new Nashville Hot version. But, the fan-favorite sweet-and-savory option hasn’t been seen on menus since.
Now, after a five-year hiatus, KFC is bringing back its Chicken and Waffles offering—and it comes with a brand new meal deal.

Beginning April 28, KFC’s Chicken and Waffles is back on the menu in three tasty ways.
The chain is releasing two new $7 meal deal boxes and one $25 Fan Favorites Box that’s big enough to feed a few people. The $7 boxes come with your choice of three Original Recipe Tenders or two pieces of fried chicken (either Original Recipe or Extra Crispy), plus a Liège-style waffle, and Mrs. Butterworth’s syrup. The $25 Chicken & Waffles Fan Favorites Box includes four pieces of fried chicken, 12 KFC Nuggets, four Liège-style waffles, and your choice of either four syrups or four dipping sauces.
KFC’s Chicken and Waffles offerings are a little different this time around, as KFC recently changed its chicken tender recipe to use those iconic 11 herbs and spices. Additionally, you won’t be able to get a chicken and waffles sandwich from KFC this time, but you can always make your own with two Liège-style waffles and a few chicken tenders.
Kentucky Fried Chicken’s new Chicken and Waffles will join menus for a limited time, alongside a new Strawberry & Crème Pie Poppers dessert and a $10 Tuesday with Tenders Deal. For a limited time, on Tuesdays, you can get eight Original Recipe Tenders or eight pieces of fried chicken with four dipping sauces for just $10.
Whether you want a brunch, lunch, or dinner option, the KFC drive-thru is calling.
