Key Takeaways

  • Coca-Cola is releasing epic new customized flavors in one popular U.S. vacation destination.
  • Celestial Spritz, Dragon Splash, and Screaming Berry are available in Coca-Cola Freestyle machines now.

Oh, the Coca-Cola Freestyle machine. Soda customizations are nearly infinite in these signature red boxes. McDonald’s may have a secret menu Sprite and Sonic has the ultimate soda hack, but a Freestyle machine is an entire world of soda mixing for a unique, perfect flavor you can’t create anywhere else.

These machines feature nearly everything in each Coca-Cola brand’s portfolio, from more Sprite flavors than you ever realized to rare Diet Coke flavors you never find in grocery stores. From time to time, Coca-Cola releases specialty fountain drinks exclusive to Freestyle machines, from Olympics-themed flavors to its Tropical Holiday lineup.

And now it's time again. There are three new exclusive flavors using multiple Coca-Cola brands that are a first for the soda empire. You just have to know where to find these Freestyle machines. Because they're only in one town.

Coca-Cola Creates New Exclusive Soda Flavors for Universal Epic Universe

Universal Orlando Resort is outfitted with Freestyle machines across its iconic theme parks, water parks, and hotels. And the brand-new Universal Epic Universe, which officially opens May 22, is no exception. Every land in the new park features Freestyle machines in select quick service locations, but they don’t look like the Freestyle machines at Wendy’s or Burger King. No, these boxes are designed to blend in with the specific land’s theme.

And three lands have more than a cute machine. They have a bespoke soda. A representative for Universal Orlando told Allrecipes that these exclusive flavors were created by Universal Orlando chefs in collaboration with Coca-Cola and are inspired by the location of each themed land.

In Celestial Park, you’ll find Celestial Spritz, which includes Seagram’s with additional cherry and orange flavors. Plus, a secret “added tartness,” according to Universal Orlando. Be warned: That added tartness is really, really tart and reminded one theme park fan on TikTok of another, infamous Coca-Cola soda. “Celestial Spritz gave Beverly vibes honestly,” they commented.

In the “How to Train Your Dragon”-inspired land, you’ll find Dragon Splash, which is concocted from Minute Maid Lime, Fanta Lime, and Mello Yello. And over in Dark Universe, a land inspired by Universal’s classic monster movies, Freestyle machines feature Screaming Berry. And it has Dr Pepper fans raising eyebrows in a good way.

The proprietary soda is made up of Fanta Cherry with Fanta Fruit Punch and additional grape and vanilla flavors. Guests attending semi-secret preview days of the park have tried the new soda and claim it tastes similar to Dr Pepper Blackberry.

“Screaming Berry was our favorite,” one fan commented on TikTok. “The monster one was soooo good,” said another.

All three soda flavors have a zero-sugar option in each machine and, yes, you can do what we’re all thinking: Mix these with other sodas in the machine. “Yes, guests can select a specialty flavor and go back to the main screen to select another flavor to mix,” said a Universal Orlando representative.

As someone who previewed the new theme park’s roller coasters and entertainment, I know all of that is epic. But a custom Coca-Cola soda mixed with other rare Coca-Cola flavors to sip on throughout the park? Now, that’s an epic flex.
