Key Takeaways

  • Two beloved Texas brands have teamed up for a nostalgic and gift-worthy Mother’s Day collaboration.
  • The new release perfectly captures the spirit of one of Blue Bell's most iconic treats.
  • Fans are already raving about the item, which is available both in-store and online.

What do you get a foodie mom for Mother’s Day? Sure, you could go the traditional route—maybe whip up a breakfast-in-bed spread or mail her a curated gift basket full of wine, fancy cheeses, and rosemary crackers. But if your mom happens to love ice cream like mine, I have something way better in mind.

My mom is a Texan and therefore a lifelong devotee of Blue Bell, the gold standard of frozen treats in the Lone Star State. She has told me countless stories from her college days at the University of Texas: rolling into the convenience store in her pajamas, taking a pint of Blue Bell Cookies ’n Cream as her victim, and polishing the whole thing off while tucked in bed back at home. “That’s just how you did life back in the day,” she said. And honestly? That sounds like the dream.

One thing I know for certain from that college-day scene: her chunky James Avery charm bracelet would’ve created a choir of clanking as it touched down on the convenience store counter. The Texas-made charm bracelet she got when she was 10 had grown into a pretty impressive collection over the years.

Now these two beloved brands—Blue Bell and James Avery—have partnered up for the most charming Mother’s Day release, and I'm pretty sure I've hit the gift-giving jackpot.

Blue Bell Launches a New James Avery Ice Cream Charm

Blue Bell and James Avery just released the sweetest little ice cream tribute: the Ice Cream Sandwich Charm. It features bronze, sterling silver, and colorful enamel, and captures the look of the iconic Blue Bell treat—right down to the half-torn wrapper and perfectly sandwiched vanilla center.

While browsing, I also came across an earlier Blue Bell charm: a sterling silver and bronze replica of the classic half-gallon carton. It’s the one that kicked off this delightful partnership between the two companies back in 2023, and it’s an ode to every family freezer that’s ever had a tub of Homemade Vanilla waiting inside.

“Blue Bell is such a nostalgic part of life for so many Texans,” said Sarah Herr, James Avery’s Vice President of Merchandising and Design, in a press release. “Our entire Mother’s Day release is about celebrating special traditions and meaningful connections, like the memory of enjoying a Blue Bell sandwich with mom.”

The new charm is available in-store at all James Avery retail locations, at the Blue Bell Country Store in Brenham (a roadtrip-worthy stop in its own right), and online at JamesAvery.com, where it sells for $99. The carton charm is available for $89. You can also purchase both, along with charms not produced by James Avery, at Blue Bell’s online store.

From the fan comments I’ve seen, I’m not the only one smitten with this unexpected collab. “Omg!! I need it,” one person wrote. “TX James Avery charm bracelet girlies, it’s your TIME,” declared another.

As for my mom, I already know she’s going to love this wonderfully quirky gift. It’s fun, nostalgic, and totally Texas. Heck, I might just end up with two sets of charms in my shopping cart.
